  1. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
  2. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
  3. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

MESSAGE:

Fashion is based on one’s culture so, peoples tastes differ. However, as a child of God, you must subject every fashion of the world to the word of God. Today’s Bible text warns us not to be obsessed with fashion because we are to be modest. Philippians 4:5 says:

“Let your moderation be made known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.”

Don’t listen to anyone who tells you that moderation is relative based on how wealthy a fellow is. The Scripture says let your moderation be known to all men – not the rich or the poor. Come to think of it, no fashion is new. Every form of clothing that is in vogue today was once in vogue. Nothing is constant in life except the word of God.

Also, it is unfortunate that some are obsessed with fashion to the extent that they borrow clothes and jewellery just to ‘feel among’. This is not right. Don’t let the world dictate to you how you should dress. Whenever you want to go out, ask the Holy Spirit What would You have me wear today? He is the Spirit of truth; let Him guide you in all that you do, including how you dress.
