BIBLE READING: Ephesians 4:20-26

20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

MESSAGE:

You interact with people every day, and once in a while, someone may try to provoke you in school, on the field, at the market, or at the bus station. However, you must learn how to manage the situation so as not to sin against God.

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: (Ephesians 4:26 KJV)

The Scripture above makes us understand that it’s okay to feel angry, but we should not let it lead us to sin. Therefore, the next time someone gets you angry, do the following:

  1. Pause and pray: When anger rises, take a moment to calm down. Talk to God and ask for peace and wisdom.
  2. Think before you speak: Instead of lashing out, choose your words carefully.
  3. Focus on forgiveness: Holding on to anger only hurts you, so forgive those who offend you.
  4. Guard your heart: Protect your mind from negative thoughts that can ignite your anger.
  5. Seek wise counsel: Talk to a teacher or a trusted Christian counsellor about your feelings.

KEY POINT:
Don’t let your anger lead you to sin.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Matthew 19:1-15, Exodus 13-15

HYMN 3: All To Jesus I Surrender

1 All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

Refrain:
I surrender all, I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

2 All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine. [Refrain]

3 All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me. [Refrain]
