MEMORISE: Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. – Romans 12:15
BIBLE READING: Luke 10:30-37 (KJV)
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
MESSAGE:
Putting yourself in other people’s shoes means seeing the world from their perspective and responding with kindness and compassion. This simple act goes a long way in showing love and making others feel understood and valued. Today’s memory verse encourages us to be present for others in all seasons of life, that is, rejoicing with them and offering support when they face difficulties.

Jesus showed compassion whenever He saw the hungry, the sick, or the brokenhearted. He did not ignore their pain; rather, He fulfilled their needs. You too can follow Jesus’ example by showing kindness, avoiding quick judgments, and giving the right support to those around you.
When you learn to empathise with others, you will listen more attentively and respond thoughtfully to people. Sometimes, the best way to show love is not by trying to fix other people’s problems, but by simply listening to them and being there for them. If a friend shares his or her struggles with you, listen without interrupting or giving unsolicited advice. Your presence and understanding can be a great source of comfort to them.
KEY POINT:
Show empathy by putting yourself in other people’s shoes.

HYMN 8 – Through The Love Of God Our Saviour
1 Through the love of God our Saviour,
all will be well.
Free and changeless is his favour,
all, all is well.
Precious is the blood that healed us,
perfect is the grace that sealed us,
strong the hand stretched forth to shield us,
all must be well.
2 Though we pass through tribulation,
all will be well.
Ours is such a full salvation,
all, all is well.
Happy, still in God confiding,
fruitful, if in Christ abiding,
holy, through the Spirit’s guiding,
all must be well.
3 We expect a bright tomorrow,
all will be well.
Faith can sing through days of sorrow,
‘All, all is well.’
On our Father’s love relying,
Jesus every need supplying,
in our living, in our dying,
all must be well.
