TOPIC: Jesus Always Listens (Open Heaven for Teens, 5 January 2026)

MEMORISE: If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:14

BIBLE READING: Matthew 7:7-14 (KJV)

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

MESSAGE:

Jesus is the only One you can talk to about anything at any time of the day. He always listens, and He will never get tired of you reaching out to Him and baring your mind. Whenever you are feeling overwhelmed and confused, you can call on Jesus. When you are in trouble and need help, all you have to do is ask Him to help you. Nothing is too small or too big to talk to Jesus about; He listens to everything.

Jesus is never busy; you can tell Him about whatever struggles you might be facing. For instance, you can tell Him to help you with your grades in school if you need them to improve. You can also ask Him for a retentive memory and excellent grades in your exams; He will hear you because He listens to us and answers prayers.

My dear child, God is your heavenly Father, and He loves you so much. Today’s memory verse says that He will do anything you ask in His name. Learn to ask Him for anything you need, not just the small things alone. Make it a lifestyle to pray and talk to Jesus, because He always listens.

KEY ACTION POINT:
For the next ten minutes, ask Jesus for something you need.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Matthew 5:1-26 Genesis 12-14

HYMN 27 – WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

1 What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

2 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

3 Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there
