TOPIC: Givers Never Lack (Open Heaven for Teens, 8 May 2025)
MEMORISE: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7
BIBLE READING: Luke 6:38
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
MESSAGE:
You might have heard the saying, ‘Givers never lack’. This saying is true; I have seen it happen over and over again. Many years ago, we had one tuber of yam left in the house. Someone came visiting, and when the visitor was leaving, my wife gave the fellow the tuber of yam. Before the end of that day, someone gave us a big sack filed with yams. I was glad I didn’t stop my wife from giving out the tuber of yam.

When you give, particularly to the needy, you will have more. Proverbs 11:24 says, “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.” Don’t think that what you have is never enough to give; you will always have something to give. In fact, giving doesn’t necessarily mean handing out money or material things because even when Jesus was on earth, He met many people’s needs without giving out money. Beloved, you can give your time, energy, and skills to impart knowledge and educate others. You can also give wise counsel, compliments, and encouragement to those who are distressed. Whatever you give will definitely come back to you in multiple portions.
KEY POINT:
Givers will always have more.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
1 Samuel 2:22-4:22, John 5:24-47
HYMN 64: When Upon Life’s Billows You Are Tempest Tossed
1 When upon life’s billows you
are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged,
thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings,
name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what
the Lord hath done.
Chorus:
Count your blessings,
name them one by one;
Count your blessings,
see what God hath done;
Count your blessings,
name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
2 Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, ev’ry doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.
3 When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised
you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
4 So, amid the conflict,
whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
