SCRIPTURE: Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. – Proverbs 16:18-19
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A crash is inevitable when pride is in view.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
Our anchor scripture reveals that there is an easy way to know that a man is about to be destroyed, and that is when pride is noticed in his character and conduct. Verse 19 of our anchor Scripture says, Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lonely than to divide the spoil with the proud.

It is better to be humble and lonely than to have wealth as a proud person, because such wealth has no future. A crash is inevitable when pride is in view.
The Scripture makes it clear in Proverbs 29:23 that, A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. It does not matter how highly placed a man is today, he will be brought down low if pride dominates his character. But if a person is humble in spirit, honour shall uphold him.
Isaiah 28:1 says, Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! Any crown, elevation, promotion, or position that makes anyone proud will bring them a curse.
I recall a story about a young man who was a member of a church. God began to use him to perform miracles, signs, and wonders with blind eyes seeing, deaf ears hearing, and so on. However, after a while, he stopped coming to church. When he stopped attending church, people asked him why he wasn’t coming to church. His response will shock you. He replied, “Which church? Do blind eyes see when ‘that pastor’ prays?” He was referring to his pastor as ‘that pastor.’
Unfortunately, his mismanagement of the gift of God turned him into a beast. Not long after that, he became a drunkard and ran mad at the frequency of pride. The very demons he had cast out returned and ruined him.
Beloved, pride disconnects people from the Presence of God. Lucifer was cast down from heaven because of pride. When you are full of self, you become empty of God. The question now is, if God is absent from your life, what is your future?
REMEMBER THIS: A crash is inevitable when pride is in view.

- Go through today’s study again.
- Ask God for the grace to remain humble in the face of elevation and promotion in life.
PRAYER: Father, I acknowledge that there is nothing I have that I did not receive from You. Help me to live with the consciousness that I am nothing without You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
