TOPIC: Godliness, A Repellent Of Unrighteousness (Seeds Of Destiny 7 April 2026)
SCRIPTURE: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:1-3, ESV.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A Godly person can not be comfortable in the company of the ungodly.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
Godliness can be defined as a state of being Godlike. It is being addicted to righteousness and allergic to unrighteousness. A Godly person would literally begin to ‘sneeze’ in a climate of unrighteousness. A Godly person does not claim perfection; he is just being Godlike.

When I was growing up earlier in the Lord, God used two symbols to teach me about righteousness and unrighteousness: the life of the pig and the life of the cat.
Put the pig in the mud, and it will celebrate you. It lies there with its nose buried in the stench, as if to say, “I am grateful, Lord for this climate; it is my realm.” Now, take that pig out, clean it, wash it thoroughly, and give it a Commandment: “Never enter the mud again,” just wait, and in just a short while, it will dash straight for the nearest mud, wondering why you kept it in captivity all that time, away from its beloved filth. That is the godless life; a life that is at home in stench. The godless man is at home in the alcoholic joint, surrounded by bottles of beer. He is at home in front of pornographic pictures and videos.
But check what happens with the cat. He is the symbol of cleanness. If, by chance, it falls into the mud, it jumps out immediately and starts cleaning itself frantically, as if it is lamenting, “What happened? How did I get into this?” It has a distaste for mud and dirt.
Beloved, Godliness is exercising your conscience to keep it always void of offence toward God and man. You are not planning to sleep over guilt. You are not even planning to live with guilt. You are not making unrighteousness a lifestyle. But it gets even further than that. A Godly person can not be comfortable in the company of the ungodly. And just as the Bible says, God’s eyes are too pure to behold iniquity (Habakkuk 1:13), and you feel the same way too. Someone can not be smoking a cigarette around you and blowing smoke in your face. As a matter of fact, you will feel like taking that cigarette from their hand and say, “You don’t need this.”
The Divine life detests ungodliness. If you are not a gambler, and you are comfortable hanging around people who love gambling, something is wrong. If you are not a prostitute, but you are always hanging out with prostitutes, something is wrong.
Beloved, Godliness is a reaction not just against iniquity but against the company of the ungodly.
REMEMBER THIS: A Godly person can not be comfortable in the company of the ungodly.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Stay away from the company of the ungodly
- Never be comfortable with sin; refuse to live with guilt.
PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to exercise my conscience; to keep it always void of offence toward God and man. Help me to be a light that shines brightly in darkness, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
