TOPIC: Utilize What You Have (TREM Devotional 1 June 2025)
“And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.” (Genesis 39:3 KJV)
MESSAGE:
Oftentimes, we make excuses for everything. Whatever you are making excuses for, just look around, you will see somebody who is providing solutions to the very thing you are making excuses for. When you take advantage of what God has made available to you, which you might have disregarded, you will discover that every challenge has a solution. You have an edge among your equals. But you are not taking advantage of it because you have esteemed it lightly.
What was it that distinguished Joseph and set him apart among equals? This was a man who was sold into Egypt as a slave. So, how did he assume the throne? One thing you must understand as a child of God, is that the advantage Joseph had, you also have, even more. The difference is that we are too casual about our advantage, waiting for things to fall on us like a bag of cherries. Joseph was sold into slavery and considered ‘dead’; as far as his brothers were concerned, they had successfully managed to get rid of him and his crazy dreams, which they could not stand. From the human standpoint, his dreams had been aborted and all hope was lost. But one thing they could not take away from Joseph, was what he had that was intangible, yet extremely valuable.
Genesis 39:2 (KJV) says, “And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.” He was brought and bought but the Lord was with him, and he was prosperous. That is the key! God was with him!
Beloved, let me announce to you today if you did not already know, that God is with you, and this is your advantage. It is all you need to overcome the vicissitudes of life and soar in this year of Rest. It does not matter what plans have been made against you, God is with you, and because He is with you, you cannot fail. There is nothing that can stand against your God, and because He is with you, nothing can withstand you. Closed doors are opened, lost opportunities are restored, seeming mishaps are overturned, because God is with you. This is your advantage. Utilize what you have.
