TOPIC: You Have A Dominion Mandate (TREM Devotional 12 June 2025)
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:28 KJV)
MESSAGE:
A mandate is a command or an authorization to act in a particular way. It is a command from a superior court or official to a lower one. It is an order, a decree, a charge, an injunction, and an instruction. Beginning at creation, God declared the dominion mandate upon man, over every life form. That is why He said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” Beloved, your God is sovereign and in charge. He is the Beginning that began the beginning. Therefore, because He is in charge, and man is created in His image and after His likeness, His expectation is that man replicates His dominion template. However, to dominate, man must function like God.
The dominion mandate is one of 5 blessings that God proclaimed upon man at creation, and if it is a blessing, then it is a supernatural empowerment. In other words, God could have left Adam and Eve in the state that He created them, and it would have sufficed, as they were already created in His image and after His likeness. However, God, in His characteristic nature of love, further empowers His beloved creation to excel in that which He had created them to be. This leaves man without a choice but to dominate in life, irrespective of the situation he encounters.
As a child of God, it is an anathema for you to be subdued by life’s circumstances, regardless of how overwhelming it might seem. It is alien to your nature, to be lost in the crowd. Understand that the dominion mandate is not a respecter of location, sector, endeavour, or anything else for that matter. As long as that thing is created or a subset of God’s creation, you have been supernaturally empowered to exert dominion over it. How can you go to school, or your workplace and be intimidated, when you have the dominion mandate over your life? Where are you from? Who is your Father? If God is your Father, and you are made in His image and after His likeness, then, let it show.
