TOPIC: Live From God In Order To Live For God (TREM Devotional 20 October 2025)
“For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring.” – Acts 17:28 (KJV)
MESSAGE
Beloved, it is good to have the desire to live for God. Many believers sincerely make this commitment, they promise to do everything within their power to please Him, to discipline themselves, to pray and fast, and to pay whatever price it takes. All of these are noble intentions. However, there is a divine order: before you can truly live for God, you must first learn to live from God.
To live from God means drawing life, strength, and direction from Him. It means resting in His finished work and allowing His Spirit to express Himself through you. When you live from God, you cease from struggling in your own strength. The life of God within you begins to flow out naturally, this is the life of grace.
When you try to live for God by your own ability, you will soon get weary and frustrated. That’s why some believers still struggle with sin, they are trying to overcome sin through self-effort instead of depending on the grace that has already set them free.
Think of a person drowning. Rescuers say that the hardest people to save are those who keep struggling. A drowning person must stop fighting and yield to the rescuer’s grip. Only then can he be lifted out of danger. That’s exactly what grace does. Stop struggling, let grace lift you.
Don’t live in constant fear of sin or with a sin-conscious mindset. Don’t keep asking, “Am I sinning? Am I doing enough?” Instead, rest in who you are in Christ. You are a child of God. Live with that consciousness, and grace will empower you to live victoriously.
The Bible declares, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” – Romans 6:14 (KJV)
So, live from God; draw your life, wisdom, and power from Him. Then you will find that living for Him is no longer a struggle, but a joyful overflow of His life within you.
