TOPIC: God Is A Promise Keeper (TREM Devotional 23 May 2025)
“And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.” (Genesis 21:1-2 KJV)
MESSAGE:
At times, we feel discouraged when a promise we have been waiting upon is delayed or when we have not seen the manifestation of the prophetic declarations made over our lives. You pray, fast, and do everything, and it seems like what God has spoken to you is not coming to fruition. God understands your condition, beloved. If you have experienced such, you are in good company because the Bible is filled with men and women who came to that point in their relationship with God, where they almost doubted whether the things God promised would ever come to pass in their lives. Whilst some gave up, and they never received the manifestation of their desires, others decided to hold on to the promises of God in their lives.

It was God who initiated Abraham’s exit from the Ur of the Chaldeans. It was not Abraham’s idea. In the same way, your salvation was never your idea. Sometimes, I hear people say, ‘I found the Lord’; beloved, the Lord was never missing. We were the ones who were lost in sin and destruction, and He found us – He found you. He is the one who gave His life for you. All these things are God’s initiatives.
God told Abram to leave his kindred and his country to a land that God would show him. He promised to bless Abram and make his name great. He promised to bless those who blessed him and curse those who cursed him. He promised Abram that in him, shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. At that time, Abram and his wife Sarai had no child, and Sarai had passed menopause. Naturally speaking, it was impossible for them to conceive a child.
However, beloved, that is why He is God; when He steps into a matter, all natural challenges have no choice but to give way. He can choose to suspend the natural course of life, just to bring His desire to pass, because He is God. That is why whenever He makes a promise, it is up to Him to fulfill it and not you. You did not initiate it, so you cannot execute it. The Lord sees the end from the beginning. So, if He has said it, He will bring it to pass. Your God is a Promise-Keeper.
