The groundbreaking of the $16 billion Gas Revolution Industrial City, Ogidigben, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, by President Goodluck Jonathan, has been scheduled for March 16.

I learned that the governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, had called some leaders to inform them about the new date, but efforts by this reporter to get him to personally confirm the date proved abortive, as his phone rang out.

One of the leaders said, “The governor himself called me to tell me that the groundbreaking is on March 16.”

An Uduaghan aide, however, hinted, “The governor is on his way to Warri today to oversee the plans for the groundbreaking.”

Secretary of the Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILoT and Chairman, Warri Study Group, Mr. Edward Ekpoko, confirmed, when contacted that he had been communicated on the March 16 date.
