Topic: Cheer On Your Leaders [18/6/2016]
Text: Joshua 1:16-18

It is easy to blame the leader of a team when things are going awry. They are the focal point of the team, organization, church, etc. When a football team doesn’t do well, the leader of the team, who is the coach, pays the ultimate price of being dismissed from his job. There is always a feeling of deja vu for every coach of an underwhelming team. But we must understand that a team leader, a pastor, a coach, must enjoy the support of his team members.

Moses had just died, and the daunting task of getting Israel into the Promise land fell on the shoulders of Joshua. One of the challenges Moses encountered was the constant rebellion of his supporting cast, though they sometimes listened to him, which inadvertently caused him his place in the Promise land. But Joshua enjoyed the overwhelming support of his team – the Israelites, which led to his success.

They said to him: “…all that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go. According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the LORD thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses” (Joshua 1:16-17). King David also enjoy success because he had great support from his team. Are you a member of a team, church, organization, etc? Support your team leader. Be dedicated to the vision of your organization. Be committed to the vision of your pastor. Cheer on your leaders with all you’ve got.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, thanks for making me part of Your church, my organization and team. I am committed to their vision and mission. I support my leaders as we walk towards the achievement of our goals, giving my best all the time, in Jesus name. Amen.
