But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. Mark 6:4. Read: Mk 6:1-6
Jesus said in Matthew 10:41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. When you are too familiar with somebody, you tend to begin to unrate or take that person’s words unserious. Many are not or cannot receive from their Pastors today because they’re too familiar with him/her. They tend to know in and out of His/her ways. Whatever you do not place value on cannot work for you. In the days of Jesus, the people where offended in Him simply because they knew Him intotal, they knew His father, mother and siblings, therefore they were offended in Him and missed their blessings. Jesus could not do much work there because of their familiarity with Him.
The Word of God is very clear in 1 Samuel 2:30, for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. Don’t be too familiar with God and miss out on His blessings.
