BIBLE READING: Hebrews 12:1 -2

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

MESSAGE:

In the days of my childhood, the only way anyone could get to my village was by road. However, I recently discovered, from an online research, that anyone can be present in my village without being there physically or travelling by road. This, I learnt, could be made possible through virtual reality.’ A virtual reality device is usually placed across a person’s eyes in a room, and that fellow begins to see things in specific location automatically as if he or she were physically in that location. Times have truly changed!

My dear child, do you know you can experience spiritual realities just like you would experience things in another physical location by wearing a virtual reality headset? This is possible when you keep looking at something and are transported into a spiritual realm. When this happens, the things that were not visible to you become tangible; you can feel, see, and lay hold on them. This year, I want you to be so focused on Jesus such that as you look at Him consistently, you will begin to feel His presence mightily. When you do this, your mind will be transformed, and you will start becoming like Him in your words, actions, and thoughts.

PRAYER POINT:
Lord, please help me to fix my gaze on you continually, in Jesus’ name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Joshua 11:1-12:24, Luke 17:11-37

HYMN 43 – Lead Us Heavenly Father, Lead Us

1 Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us
O’er The World’s Tempestuous Sea;
Guard Us, Guide Us, Keep Us, Feed Us,
For We Have No Help But Thee,
Yet Possessing Every Blessing
If Our God Our Father Be.

2 Saviour, Breathe Forgiveness O’er Us;
All Our Weakness Thou Dost Know;
Thou Didst Tread This Earth Before Us,
Thou Didst Feel lts Keenest Woe;
Lone And Dreary, Faint And Weary,
Through The Desert Thou Didst Go.

3 Spirit Of Our God, Descending,
Fill Our Hearts With Heavenly Joy,
Love With Every Passion Blending,
Pleasure That Can Never Cloy;
Thus Provided, Pardoned, Guided,
Nothing Can Our Peace Destroy.
