MEMORISE: And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door
2 Kings 4:15

BIBLE READING: 2 Kings 4:12 & 14-15

12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

14 And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.

15 And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

MESSAGE:

In today’s Bible reading, an influential woman perceived that Prophet Elisha was a genuine man of God as he came into her city. In agreement with her husband, she gave him a befitting accommodation. The man of God also perceived that she needed something, so he sent for her. The first time she honoured his call, she stood before him, not beside him (2 Kings 4:12). At his second call, she stood by the door (vs 15); she didn’t act in a familiar way or enter boldly into his room to sit on the bed.

As a young boy or lady, you must be disciplined in every sense of the word so that you won’t get into any form of trouble emotionally, spiritually, or otherwise. Many unsuspecting teenage boys and girls have been taken advantage of by malicious uncles, aunties, or neighbours to whom they gave too much access. Some teenagers even carelessly use endearing words like “my darling”, “sweetheart”, “my boo”, “babe”, et cetera when talking to people of the opposite sex. Using such words will only get your spirit and soul entangled in unnecessary weights. It is important to set boundaries and stick to them when dealing with people of the opposite sex.

KEY POINT:
It is important to set boundaries when dealing with people of the opposite sex.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
1 Kings l8:1-46, Acts 11:1-3O

HYMN 61: Take The Name Of Jesus With You

1 Take the name of Jesus with you,
Child of sorrow and of woe.
It will joy and comfort give you,
Take it then where’er you go.

Chorus:
Precious name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of heaven;
Precious name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of heaven.

2 Take the name of JesUs ever
As a shield from evr’y snare;
If temptations ’round you gather,
Breathe that holy name in prayer.

3 Oh, the precious name of Jesus,
How it thrills our souls with joy,
When His loving arms receive us,
And His songs Our tongues employ!

4 At the name of Jesus bowing,
Falling prostrate at His feet
King of kings, in heaven we’ll crown Him
When our journey is complete.
