TOPIC: You Are Shielded From Evil (TREM Devotional 15 July 2025)

“I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil”. – John 17:15 KJV

MESSAGE:

Beloved, Jesus, in His final prayer before going to the cross, lifted up His voice to the Father concerning the church. And the prayer was not for us to be removed from a troubled world, but rather that we be preserved in the midst of it. He didn’t pray for escape; He prayed for protection and preservation. So how does God preserve us from evil? The answer is in John 17:17 (KJV): “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

The word “sanctify” there means to separate unto Himself. While the evil is happening, separate them with thy truth. How? The Word of God is truth. In other words, something can be a fact but not the truth. Facts may describe your situation, but only truth has the power to define your outcome.

Yes, economic hardship may be a fact. But the truth is, you are not of this world’s system. You operate from a higher realm, a superior covenant, backed by divine supply. While scarcity may hit the earth, your Source remains unshaken. In 1 Kings 17:14, Elijah stood in the middle of famine and boldly declared, “The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail…” And indeed, it did not fail. He was sustained miraculously, not because conditions were favorable, but because he stood on God’s truth, not man’s facts.

Child of God, do not be afraid. Don’t let the noise around you determine the peace within you. If God is keeping you alive, He has every intention to sustain, provide, and elevate you. You will not be stranded. You will eat the good of the land. You are covered under heaven’s economy, and heaven’s resources never run dry. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

Be confident that God can exceed your expectations, and He will.
