TOPIC: Clean Up Yourself (Open Heaven for Teens, 4 August 2025)

MEMORISE: Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD. – Isaiah 52:11

BIBLE READING: Numbers 8:5-7

5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

MESSAGE:

Teenagers who have attained puberty need to be more conscious of their hygiene. Their bodies now secrete more waste products, which can lead to body odour if they are not cleaned consistently and thoroughly. Many people think cleanliness has to do with the soul alone, but God is as interested in your physical hygiene as He is in your soul.

In today’s Bible reading, God told Moses to take the Levites from among the children of Israel and cleanse them. I find this Bible passage very interesting because it debunks people’s claim that “God only looks at the heart.” God also pays attention to your physical appearance because you are His representative everywhere you find yourself.

Another area of focus should be your environment. When you wake up in the morning, you should tidy your room, lay your bed, brush your teeth, and arrange displaced items orderly before stepping out. My dear child, God is not dirty. Therefore, as His child, you should take your hygiene seriously.

KEY POINT:
God is interested in your personal hygiene.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
2 Chronicles 35:1-36:23 1 Corinthians 1:1-17

HYMN: What Can Wash Away My Stain

1 What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain:
O precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know;
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2 For my pardon this I see:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
For my cleansing this my plea:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

3 Nothing can for sin atone:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Naught of good that I have done:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

4 This is all my hope and peace:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
This is all my righteousness:
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
