BIBLE READING: Ecclesiastes 3:1-3
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
MESSAGE:
God is the Creator of all things, and He knows what is best for you. He can never fail in fulfilling His promises. When God promises to do a thing, He will surely bring it to pass, but only at His appointed time. The Bible says that God makes all things beautiful in His own time (Ecclesiastes 3:11); this means that when people rush to get results that are not according to God’s timing, they might end up having great problems. For example, a boy who fails an exam the first time has only gotten an opportunity to prepare harder for the next time he will write the exam; however, if the boy decides to cheat or get someone else to write the exam for him, he might get caught and be disqualified from the educational programme he is enrolled in entirely.
God’s timing is the best because He knows what is best for you. Do not be impatient when you want something. There is a serious obsession with getting rich quickly these days, and many young people are guilty of this. I heard about some youths who engage in sports betting and gambling with their school fees. My dear child, do not sell your birthright because of immediate gratification. Keep engaging in legitimate work, and God will bless the work of your hands in due time.
Quiz: The promises of God are………… and …………
KEY POINT:
Wait patiently for God’s reward.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Nehemiah 12:27-13:31; 1 Corinthians 11:1-16
HYMN: 33 – Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah!
1 Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah!
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty,
Hold me with Thy powerful hand:
Bread of heaven! Bread of heaven!
Feed me now and evermore,
Feed me now and evermore.
2 Open Thou the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow:
Let the fiery, cloudy pillar,
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer! Strong deliverer!
Be Thou still my strength and shield,
Be Thou still my strength and shield.
3 If I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside:
Bear me through the swelling torrent,
Land me safe on Canaan’s side:
Songs of praises! Song of praises!
I will ever give to Thee,
I will ever give to Thee.
4 Saviour, come! we long to see Thee,
Long to dwell with Thee above;
And to know in full communion,
All the sweetness of Thy love,
Come, Lord Jesus! Come Lord Jesus!
Take Thy waiting people home,
Take Thy waiting people home.
