TOPIC: You Are Above Angels (Open Heaven for Teens, 12 October 2025)
MEMORISE: Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? Hebrews 1:14
BIBLE READING: Hebrews 1:13-14
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
MESSAGE:
Today’s Bible reading tells us that angels are ministering spirits; in other words, they are sent to serve God’s children. I sometimes have to travel alone at night, and when people ask me, “Daddy, why are you travelling alone at night? Don’t you know it is dangerous?” I tell them that I have my own bodyguards that cannot be seen; their names are Goodness and Mercy. Psalm 23:6 says that goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life.
You would most likely be afraid the first time you see an angel because they are very huge.
They are also very powerful; only one angel can kill 185,000 soldiers in one night (2 Kings 19:35). Yet, God assigned them to serve you. My dear child, you must understand that even though angels are assigned to serve you, you still need to give them instructions to follow.
They are primarily subject to God’s instructions; therefore, to instruct them, echo God’s word back to them, and they will obey promptly. You must also understand that God’s word is only potent in the mouth of His children. This means that if you are not yet born again, rather than obeying you, angels may work against you. If you do not believe that angels can work against a fellow, read Balaam’s story in Numbers 22:21-35.
Quiz: Who did God send to remove the obstacle that was preventing Daniel from receiving the answer to his prayer?
ACTION POINT:
Send the angels assigned to you on an errand now using God’s word.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:

HYMN 60 – Most Ancient Of All Mysteries
1 Most ancient of all mysteries,
Before Thy throne we lie;
Have mercy now, most merciful,
Most holy Trinity.
2 When heav’n and earth were yet unmade,
When time was yet unknown,
Thou in Thy bliss and majesty
Didst live and love alone.
3 Thou wert not born; there was no fount
From which Thy Being flowed;
There is no end which Thou canst reach;
But Thou art simply God.
4 How wonderful creation is,
The work which Thou didst bless,
And O what then must Thou be like,
Eternal loveliness!
5 O listen then, most pitiful,
To Thy poor creature’s heart:
It blesses Thee that Thou art God,
That Thou art what ThoU art.
6 Most ancient of all mysteries,
Still at thy throne we lie;
Have mercy now, most merciful,
Most holy Trinity.
