TOPIC: Worship For Cleansing

READ: LUKE 5:12-16

12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy.[a] When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.

14 Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”

15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses.

16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

THE MESSAGE:

Worship refers to the act of total reverence of fear for God. It involves praises, prayers, service, offering and bowing to the King of kings and Lord of lords. When we worship in truth, we enthrone God and He in turn uplifts us for good. Worship opens the gates of grace to man and helps us to offer ourselves to the glory of God. The leper in our text, approached Jesus and fell on his face (i. e. worship) and in prayers, requested for cleansing (verse 12). And the Lord had mercy on him, reached out and healed him (verse 13).

In the spirit of this portion of Scriptures, we declare that today is our day of cleansing from all forms of spiritual, physical, financial, social, material and academic leprosy. And the authentic channel through which to activate this declaration is ‘true worship’ (John 4:24; Matthew. 2:11). “O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker’ (Psalm 95:6). Do this in your closet, place of worship or in any convenient place. Then expect the miracle of this ministration in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I believe, I bow, and I ask for total cleansing this day and always. Amen
