SCRIPTURE: For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When a person makes money by destroying people’s lives, it is considered evil money.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
The Scripture makes it abundantly clear that money is a defence. We know that money is important for many things, but it is wisdom not to chase money at the expense of our souls. This is because money gotten from wrong or evil means destroys rather than profiting us. And money whose sources are not tidy is regarded as evil money.
Now, what is evil money?
Evil money involves the proceeds of iniquity or iniquitous products—the proceeds of iniquity. For example, the proceeds of prostitution are evil money.

In Leviticus 19:29, God speaking to the children of Israel says, “Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.”
If a lady went out with a man, and in exchange for his iniquitous acts with her, he bought her a car or a house, these are evil treasures, evil proceeds of iniquity or iniquitous products.
Also, money from the sale of alcohol, tobacco, or money earned from running nightclubs or any business activity whose products lead people into destruction is all evil money.
Someone may ask, “Why?” Habakkuk 2:15 gives us the answer. The Bible says, “Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness”
If that does not satisfy you, it’s important to know that one of the major destroyers of the liver is alcohol. Also, the number one cause of bronchogenic carcinoma, or cancer of the lungs, is tobacco smoking.
So, when a person is making money out of destroying people’s lives, it is evil money. The money made by selling cocaine and other harmful substances is evil and does not have a future.
Beloved, do not allow the cravings of the flesh to lure you into what will destroy your life and destiny in time and in eternity. What sin will cost you at the end weighs heavier than the immediate pleasure it gives.
Remember this: When a person makes money by destroying people’s lives, it is considered evil money.

- Run away from every money-making venture that is not clean and tidy.
- Ask God to give you ideas on how to make clean money
