TOPIC: Defining Godly Character (Seeds Of Destiny 14 April 2026)
SCRIPTURE: And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void to offence toward God, and toward men. Acts 24:16
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Godly character is a function of possessing a conscience that is void of offence towards God and towards men.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
The subject of character means different things to different people. For some, character means living by a set of rules or regulations; for others, it is about good upbringing.
In our anchor Scripture, Paul the Apostle gave an insightful summary of what Godly Character is all about. In our study today, I will give a few definitions of godly character based on this and other Scriptural insights.

Now, what is godly character all about? It is about:
- Possessing a conscience that is void of offence towards God and towards men (Acts 24:16).
This is living in such a way that your conscience is clear both before God and before men. You are not living in a way to offend God or man. It gives you an effortless Godly character as a result. Godly character is a function of possessing a conscience that is void of offence towards God and towards men. - Character is a function of living in the fear of God (Job 1:1). That healthy fear of God that causes people to depart from evil is character.
Job feared God and eschewed evil; that was what made him a man of character. In Genesis 42:18, we see the life of Joseph where, He said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God:
The character of Joseph was a function of the fear of God.
Proverbs 8:13 says, The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
The meaning of that is, people of no character have no fear of God. A man recounted his experience in the kidnappers’ camp, and one of the kidnappers was telling him, “Look, I don’t fear God.” That is what makes that devil a devil.
- Character is a function of living a life of love for both God and man (Romans 13:8).
This is a life of love for both God and man. Loving God and loving man means you don’t intentionally hurt those around you. You don’t deliberately or intentionally hate those you love. You love God, so you won’t deliberately hurt Him.
Beloved, if you love people, you won’t deliberately hurt them.
REMEMBER THIS: Godly character is a function of possessing a conscience that is void of offence towards God and towards men.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Embrace Godly character for a successful earthly life and a glorious eternal destiny.
- Stay close to the Presence and the Person of God. That will enhance your character
PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to live in Godly character, and I receive deliverance from ungodly character. Baptize me with the willingness and zeal to live for You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
