TOPIC – The Danger Of Taking God’s Glory (5) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 12 May 2026)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Ezekiel 28:12-19 (KJV)
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

MFM Devotional For Today 2026 MESSAGE:
Lucifer, who was once a beautiful angel, became proud and sought to elevate himself above God. His desire to be like the Most High led to his rebellion and eventual fall from Heaven. This act of rivalry with God resulted in Lucifer’s transformation into satan. Isaiah 14:12-15 says, “How art thou fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”

This famous declaration of Lucifer in Isaiah 14 is often referred to as the “I will” statements, where he declared his intent to ascend above God’s throne, to be like the Most High. Here was a being, perfect in beauty and wisdom, until his pride led to his fall and deformation. Yes, that is what happens to a man who forgets his Maker and begins to take the glory for his achievements.
He was not merely disobedient; he sought to take what rightfully belonged to God-the glory and authority of the Most High. The temptation to become like God is at the core of every human sin. Adam and Eve’s fall in the garden began with the same desire: to “be like God” (Genesis 3:5). Lucifer’s story serves as a warning against trying to elevate ourselves to God’s level. This desire to be noticed, if left unchecked, can lead to spiritual death. It is only in humility that we can align ourselves with God’s will and give Him the glory He deserves.

MORNING
- I repent of every spirit of pride, in the Name of Jesus.
- O God, have mercy on me and forgive me, in the Name of Jesus.
- Holy Spirit, help me to be humble, in the Name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Holy Spirit, teach me to live in humility, in the Name of Jesus.
- I refuse to follow satan all the days of my life, in the Name of Jesus.
- I shall follow Jesus all the days of my life, in the Name of Jesus.
- I silence every voice of pride in my life, in the Name of Jesus.
