TOPIC: The Altar—A Key To Blessing Indeed (Seeds Of Destiny 10 September 2026)
SCRIPTURE: An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee. – Exodus 20:24
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When your altar is in place, you do not struggle to be blessed; the blessing looks for you.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
Yesterday, we looked at the topic, Blessing Indeed, and it was established that Blessing Indeed is a dimension of Divine Life that money cannot buy. It is a dimension of God’s Life manifested in a man. It is the reality of carrying what money cannot purchase and what human effort cannot produce.
In today’s study, we shall take it a step further by looking at the altar as the key to accessing the realm of Blessing Indeed.
An altar is a meeting point between God and man. It is the place where a person deliberately surrenders his life to God through consecration, covenant, prayer, worship, and sacrifice.
In Exodus 20:24, God says, An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me… in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
This means that where God finds an altar raised in His Name, He goes there Himself and releases His Blessings.
Many people are asking God for blessing, but God seems to be asking, “Where is your altar?” The altar is not merely a physical place; it is the state of a life that is yielded to God.
When your altar is in place, you do not struggle to be blessed; God Himself is the One to look for you. This is because He has promised that wherever He records His Name, He will go there and release His Blessing.
Now, what does the altar represent?
We shall be looking at about four of them today.
- The altar is the place of consecration and separation. It is the place where you are separated from habits, lifestyles, characters, and companies that are not needed in your life. Many people want God to bless them, but there is a habit, a lifestyle, a character, or a company they keep that keeps God and His Blessing away from them. Their altar is not in place.
- The altar is the place of covenant. It is where you let God know that you mean business with Him. It is where you say, “Lord, I am not planning to use You; I am planning to walk with You. Whatever You want me to do, let me know.” For example, Jacob made a covenant with God, and Hannah made a vow. The altar is where God confirms that you are serious with Him.
- The altar is the place of death to self and total surrender. Death to self and death to pride, arrogance, and the desire for personal glory happen at the altar. It is the place where you say, “Lord, everything You will do in my life is for Your glory.” God cannot take some people far because they are full of pride, arrogance, and bragging. The altar is where self dies.
- The altar is the place of intimacy, communion, prayer, worship, and the study of the Word. A functional altar means an active prayer life, worship life, relationship with God, and consistent study of the Word.
Many people want God to do things for them, but there is no prayer life, no study of the Word, no fasting, and no fellowship with God.
Beloved, raise your altar. Let your altar be an altar of consecration, covenant, surrender, intimacy, and sacrifice. When the altar is in place, Blessing Indeed will not be far from your life.
REMEMBER THIS: When your altar is in place, you do not struggle to be blessed; the blessing looks for you.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Examine your life and deal with every habit, lifestyle, relationship, or attitude that weakens your walk with God.
- Strengthen your altar through prayer, worship, study of the Word, consecration, and sacrificial giving.
PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to raise and maintain a functional altar unto You. Deliver me from every habit, attitude, and lifestyle that weakens my altar, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Daniel 1-3
QUOTE: There is a connection between a person’s prayer life and the level of favour he or she enjoys from God. To be without prayer, therefore, is to be without favour. Culled from the book, Principles and Power of Prayer by Dr Paul Enenche
