TOPIC: The Making Of A Christian (Seeds Of Destiny 6 October 2026)

SCRIPTURE: Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. -n1 Timothy 4:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The most significant impact of Christianity is character transformation.

Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE

The greatest proof of authentic Christianity is character transformation. Christianity is not a title or a sticker; it is character transformation.

The followers of Christ are known by their character and not just by their titles or church attendance. No wonder, our master Jesus says, Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them (Matthew 7:20). The frequency or duration of church attendance is not what makes a person a Christian. It is by the manifestation of character that you know whether a person is a Christian or not. Someone could be born in church and yet not be a Christian.

The work of Christian Ministry is the development of godly character. The major work of a pastor is not the performance of miracles; it is not the release of prophecies; it is the development of godly character. If someone comes to church and his or her character is not changed, it is a waste of church attendance. If those who know you cannot testify that you are a child of God, then something is wrong with your Christianity.

Christian character development is a process. The Scripture says, “…may grow up into him in all things…” (Ephesians 4:15). Character development is not a destination; it is a journey. We grow, and we keep growing.

One factor that facilitates Christian character development is the maintenance of a sense of vision and purpose for godly character.

Daniel 1:8 says, But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Christian character development involves knowing exactly the kind of person you want to be in life. You can begin by asking yourself some very important questions: “What kind of person do I want to be? What kind of life do I want to live? Who are the role models of that kind of life?”

There must be a sense of vision and purpose. Nothing happens by accident. You make choices, and your choices make you. There must be a determination that says, “This is what I want out of life, and I will have it, the devil notwithstanding.” A person of purpose is not easily distracted or diverted because purpose gives direction, and direction shapes character.

Beloved, the greatest proof of genuine Christianity is transformed character. A person is not known as a Christian by church attendance alone, but by the fruit of a transformed life and character.

REMEMBER THIS: The most significant impact of Christianity is character transformation.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Discover the kind of person God wants you to become and pursue that vision deliberately.
  2. Make daily choices that reflect godly character.
  3. Ask yourself whether the people around you can truly testify that you are a follower of Christ.

PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to develop godly character. Make me a reflection of Your Image upon the earth. Let the fragrance of Your Presence flow around my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
