A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic:A Student Not Greater Than His Master

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. John 13:16

A story was told by Pastor E. A. Adeboye of a man who taught his son tactic on how to bring a man’s back down no matter how strong that man is. After the little boy had strengthened himself, he disdained his father as an old man and called him for a showdown. Both of them got down on the game, in spite of his father’s age, he still brought his son’s back down. Surprised, father, what did you do and you never taught me this style he asked? This illustration reflect what Jesus taught His disciples that a Master is a master and a Servant is a Servant. A Master is open to many secrets and experiences which the student is not but can learn from the Master. Years of experience make the master greater than the student.

In Matthew 10:25 Jesus said, It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? In order words, as you go about the Lord’s service, you will encounter all kinds of discouraging things, don’t be distracted because, distraction leads to death. Just make sure your relationship with your Saviour is intact, that is what matter most. Continue to update yourself through His Word and guide your relationship with Him like an egg.

* Through His Word, you become like your Master – Jesus
