TOPIC: In His Presence

READ: Exodus 34:29-35 King James Version (KJV)

29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.

30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.

31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.

32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.

33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.

34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.

35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

THE MESSAGE:

In today’s reading, we see how the face of Moses shone with glory after staying in the presence of God. We are encouraged to seek the presence of God (Exodus 33:15-16).

Doing this involves making out time regularly to pray, read the word of God and meditate on it. Attending Church services, fellowships, Bible studies and Christian conferences are means through which we attract God’s presence to our lives, situations, and circumstances.

There are lots of benefits we get from dwelling in the presence of God. We receive mercy and find grace to help us in times of need (Hebrews 4:16), we receive answers or insight to our questions, we receive power to help others, and bring blessings to the Church of God. We also receive insight into the word of God and grace to enable us live the Christian life.

When we form the habit of seeking the face of God and dwelling in His presence, initially we may not know that much has happened to us but people will start noticing the change. Examine yourself. Do we make out quality time during the day to stay in God’s presence? Learn to come close to the Lord and you will never regret it.

Prayer: O Lord, help me to make out time to pray, study and meditate on Your word in Jesus name, Amen!
