TOPIC: God’s Dominion Over The Earth
READ: Daniel 8:1-12 (Nkjv)
- In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar a vision appeared [to] me — to me, Daniel — after the one that appeared to me the first time.
- I saw in the vision, and it so happened while I was looking, that I [was] in Shushan, the citadel, which [is] in the province of Elam; and I saw in the vision that I was by the River Ulai.
- Then I lifted my eyes and saw, and there, standing beside the river, was a ram which had two horns, and the two horns [were] high; but one [was] higher than the other, and the higher [one] came up last.
- I saw the ram pushing westward, northward, and southward, so that no animal could withstand him; nor [was there any] that could deliver from his hand, but he did according to his will and became great.
- And as I was considering, suddenly a male goat came from the west, across the surface of the whole earth, without touching the ground; and the goat [had] a notable horn between his eyes.
- Then he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing beside the river, and ran at him with furious power.
- And I saw him confronting the ram; he was moved with rage against him, attacked the ram, and broke his two horns. There was no power in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled him; and there was no one that could deliver the ram from his hand.
- Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven.
- And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious [Land.]
- And it grew up to the host of heaven; and it cast down [some] of the host and [some] of the stars to the ground, and trampled them.
- He even exalted [himself] as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily [sacrifices] were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down.
- Because of transgression, an army was given over [to the horn] to oppose the daily [sacrifices;] and he cast truth down to the ground. He did [all this] and prospered.
THE MESSAGE:
In today’s text, Daniel had a vision of a ram and a Goat. The ram looked terrifying with two horns and made every one afraid. While Daniel was in a confused state, he suddenly saw a goat approaching from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground. None could rescue the ram from the power of the goat. The goat attacked the ram fiercely and shattered its two horns. It is instructive to note that the ram who hitherto stretched to every part of the world (verse 4), had its power curtailed by the goat. No earthly dominion lasts forever.
Child of God, no matter the challenges, troubles and attacks trailing your life, remember God is in charge and will bring to an end, every trouble and concern that agitates your heart. Has your marriage or promotion been delayed? Have you failed an exam? Is your health deteriorating? God is able to restore the loss of the past years (Joel 2.25). When man thinks all hope is lost, God shows Himself strong. Have faith in God and you will see victory achieved in all sphere of your life.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father; release Your grace upon me to rely and depend on You in all spheres of my life in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

- Father in the name of Jesus, thank You for the grace to see this new week in good health and sound mind.
- Father, thank You for the special gift of life, many wished to see this day, but they couldn’t.
- Thank You Jesus for being there for us, Your children.
- Thank You Lord for Your plans for me this month and this year. They are plans of good, not of evil, to give me a successful and good end.
- Father, please forgive me all my known and unknown sins, and give me power to overcome sin and its lustful desires, in Jesus’ name
- Holy Spirit, rescue me from every state of confusion, in Jesus’ name.
- Holy Spirit, give me courage to face every challenge without giving up, in Jesus’ name
- Lord God, please, take over the ownership of my life and reign in my life, in Jesus’ name.
- Able God, please restore to me everything I have lost since January till date, in Jesus’ name.
- LORD, my faith look up to You, please, help me achieve victory in all spheres of my life, in Jesus name.
- LORD, help us to get it right in Nigeria, and let Your perfect will be enforced on us in Jesus’ name.
- Heavenly Father, let Your peace reign in this country,
- Whether the devil likes it or not, I will make heaven and receive my eternal rewards in Jesus’ Name.
- This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
