TOPIC: All Round Freedom
READ: Micah 4:1-8
1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it.
5 For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.
6 In that day, saith the Lord, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted;
7 And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the Lord shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever.
8 And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.
THE MESSAGE:
Micah 4:1-5 describes 4 freedoms:
- Freedom from ignorance (He will teach us His ways);
- Freedom from war (neither shall they learn war anymore);
- Freedom from want (everyone shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree);
- Freedom from fear (and no one shall make them afraid).
So many people today are not free. Many are still under the bondage of ignorance – they simply do not know what to do. Many are still under the bondage of sin, which has made them to be fearful. However, the scripture says that God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Many are heavily indebted and this has made them slaves to their creditors.
But there is a way out from all forms of slavery. The way out is in Micah 4:2, “And many nations shall come and say, “Come, let us go to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob” (TLB). You need to come to Jesus who guarantees total and all-round freedom. Make up your mind to be free from bondage. There is already a provision for you in Christ, you have tarried for so long. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” You need rest; come to Jesus today.
PRAYER: Lord, I come unto You today, take away all my burdens, forgive my sins and grant me rest from all my troubles in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
