TOPIC: Believe And See

READ: Romans 4:13-25 (NKJV)

  1. For the promise that he would be the heir of the world [was] not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
  2. For if those who are of the law [are] heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect,
  3. because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law [there is] no transgression.
  4. Therefore [it is] of faith that [it might be] according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all
  5. (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed — God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
  6. who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”
  7. And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
  8. He did not waver orruptible man — and birds and belief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
  9. and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
  10. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
  11. Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him,
  12. but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead,
  13. who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

THE MESSAGE:

Faith opens the door of grace. Abraham received the righteousness that came through his resolute faith – and he staggered not and did not consider the working of his flesh which was dead – and believed God to make alive his dead body. He received the promise! This opens the door to anyone who walks by faith. Faith in God’s healing power releases the grace for health; faith in Christ’s death and resurrection releases the grace to obtain forgiveness and justification respectively while faith in God’s provision releases the grace for abundance!

How often do we speak of faith without actually demonstrating our faith. Faith most times is not logical, reasonable, natural nor understandable by natural minds. When Jesus asked the cripple to rise up and walk, someone would have thought, ‘doesn’t he see that the man is crippled?’ Faith gives us access to God’s unlimited resources for life and godliness. We must come believing that He is able to do what He says He will do. In the midst of the barrage of life’s challenges, our anchor should hold strong on Christ both for our sustenance and eternal bliss. Grace is abundant, just keep on believing and acting on the word of God and you will see.

PRAYER: Lord, I put my trust in You. I’m healed, restored, forgiven and blessed. I depend on the Lord Jesus not on my righteousness. Help my faith to be strong. Amen.
