Topic: God’s Great Love

Read: John 3:16-21 (NKJV)

  1. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
  2. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
  3. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
  4. “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
  5. “For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
  6. “But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

THE MESSAGE:

The nocturnal visit of Nicodemus to Jesus Christ revealed God’s great love for mankind. Nicodemus, like many religious leaders, was very conversant with the religious rites and rituals of the day but ignorant of the deeper truths of God’s relationship with man. But he was taught this truth by Jesus because he humbled himself to admit his ignorance.

Beloved, what will make it difficult for you to learn at the Lord’s feet? In John 3:16, we learn about God’s great love for the whole world. He proved this love by giving His only Son, Jesus, in order to save sinners. But this leaves man with a choice: Whosoever believes is saved. But whoever does not believe is condemned (John 3:18). Beloved, the choice is yours: What will you do with God’s free choice: To make Him your Saviour and Lord or to turn Him away from your life (Hebrews 2:3).

PRAYER: Loving Jesus, You are the Father’s free “love gift” to me. Help me not to despise You, but make You my Lord and Saviour.
