At least one person was reportedly killed on Wednesday at Hotoro quarters in Kano State as a result of a clash between political thugs loyal to the All Progressive Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

According to the Police Command in Kano, five vehicles were also burnt during the clash.

It was disclosed that the incident occurred around noon at a time when President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s campaign rally was on at Polo Ground and General Muhammad Buhari was addressing a World Press Conference on the issue bordering on his WASCE certificate at Government House.

P.M.NEWS reports that Hotoro Quarters is located far away from the venue of the PDP rally.
The spokesman of Kano Police Command, ASP Magaji Musa Majia, while confirming the incident, said the police are investigating the incident to ascertain the remote and immediate cause of the tragic incident.

It would be recalled that chieftains of all political parties in Nigeria last week signed a peace pact in Abuja to avoid electoral violence before, during and after next month’s general polls.
