Newly wedded couple have been asked to make love their most cherished ingredient in marriage.
Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi gave the advice at the traditional wedding engagement between Dayo Babalola and Adeola Favour Bello, held in lokoja.

Awoniyi urged the new couple to see marriage as an institution that calls for daily learning and prayers, described marriage as one institution that must be protected for the society to be a better place to live.

the Deputy Governor asked the couple to allow their coming together as husband and wife be the change agent that will transform the society, said the society thrives better when homes are built in love and happiness.

Awoniyi appealed for patience, and understanding from the couple, disclosed that the society, state and nation will be made a better place if family’s that are united join hands in building the country of our dream.

While noting that the success of every marriage lies in the hands of the couple and not on external influence, advised against third party interference, but appealed to the couple to make communication,respect for one another and love guide their daily lives for a sustainable marriage.
The Deputy Governor congratulated the couple’s parent Dr Kolawole Bello, who retired from the Ministry of Health and Mr Sunday Obalola, a staff of the Ministry of Finance for witnessing the marriage of their children, urged them to constantly counsel and pray for the couple.

Awoniyi wished the couple a prosperous marriage life, and prayed God to bless the marriage with children and all the blessings of marriage.

Highlights of the wedding engagement was the payment of the bride price and cutting of the engagement cake.

The wedding was attended by dignitaries from across the country, who in their separate appeal urged the couple to remain faithful and loving to each other.
