Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi has expressed satisfaction with the improvement in INEC’s preparation for today’s State House of Assembly election in the state.

Awoniyi who was accredited at 9.45am, at unit 4, Ileteju ward of Mopamuro LGA, said there is a remarkable improvement in logistic arrangements.

Awoniyi scored the electoral body a pass mark, praised it for early arrival of its men and materials to the polling units in the area.

The Deputy Governor commended the people for their peaceful conduct and turnout, appreciated Nigerians especially the people of the area for their optimism to exercise their franchise.
The Deputy Governor maintained that with the impressive performance of the 2015 general election despite the few noticed challenges, the country Awoniyi explained has gotten its electoral process right.

The Deputy Governor praised the electorate for their large turnout for the election, said it is a credit for President Goodluck Jonathan and Prof Jega’s led INEC that built confidence on the mind of the people.

On the Kogi State Governorship election, Awoniyi said only INEC will decide when it will hold, assured that the state which is a PDP stronghold, will ensure it maintain its hold now and in the future.

Awoniyi appealed to politicians and their supporters to accept verdict of the outcome of the election, disclosing that nigerians owe it a duty to collectively build a virile nation, which he added can only achieved in a peaceful environment.
