Memorise: A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. – John 3:27

Read: 2 Corinthians 10:17-18

17 But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

18 For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

Bible In One Year: Proverbs 25-27, 2 Corinthians 6

MESSAGE:

What is your attitude when you do well at something? Do you boast about how good you are at it? If you do, then you need to turn a new leaf. You need to realise that it is not by your power or might that you did well at that thing. You did not give yourself the talents and abilities that you have, you were born with them. If it about your beauty, did you create yourself? There is nothing that you have or can do that you should not thank God for.

When you do well at something, always see it as an opportunity to draw attention to God. He said if He is lifted up, He will draw men unto Him. This also implies that men will come to the person that is lifting Him up. If you want to do better and be celebrated more, then always give Him glory. This is one of the secrets of my continuous success.

Prayer Point:

Lord, I am sorry for all the times that I took your glory. I promise to always give you the glory for my all my success from now on in Jesus’ name.

Hymn 8:

  1. Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
    In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
    Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,
    Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
  2. Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
    Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
    Thy justice like mountains high soaring above,
    Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.
  3. To all life thou givest to both great and small;
    In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
    We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
    And wither and perish, but nought changeth Thee.
  4. Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light,
    Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
    All laud we would render; o help us to see;
    ‘Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee.
  5. Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
    In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
    Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,
    Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
