MESSAGE

As Christians, we are to respect and honour our elders. We should also respect our peers, but some teenagers have inappropriate an view of themselves. When you feel like you are now of age, so your parents shouldn’t talk to you in a particular manner, you are making a big mistake. When you see an older person and you greet him or her as if you are mates, you are heading for trouble. By God’s grace, my wife is over seventy years old now, but when she meets people that are older than her, she kneels to greet them. How old are you that you are already feeling too big to greet properly?. Some teenagers even refuse to run some errands because they think that they are past those errands. pity you. The Bible says in Exodus 20:12:

“Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”

If you want to live long, you better drop that deceptive mentality. No matter how old you become, you are still a child to your parents and you must continue to honour them. No matter how tall or big you become, your elders must still be respected.

Key Point:

No matter how old you become, you are still a child to your parents and you must continue to honour them.
