Many who doesn’t believe or seek God seek their gods before they embark on any journey no matter how hard or important such adventure may be. In the same vein, Christians ought to seek God guidance before embarking on any journey to avoid mishap. In Ruth 1:1-6, because of the famine in the land, Elimelech took his wife Naomi and his two sons and sojourn in a strange land for a greener pasture. In the long run, he and his two sons lost their lives. When Naomi heard that God had visited His people by given them bread, she decided to return back to her land. Elimelech jumped from frying pan into fire. He didn’t sought God before he left for a foreign country.
Isaac almost made the same mistake saved the word of God came to him not to leave the land (though there was severe famine too). Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: Genesis 26:12-13. In this hash economy in our land, let God’s word guide you through your decisions. You can still make it here through His guidance.
