TOPIC: Treasure through Obedience (DCLM Daily Manna 11 July 2026)
KEY VERSE: And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped – Exodus 4:31
TEXT: Exodus 4:24-31 (KJV)
24 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the Lord met him, and sought to kill him.
25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.
26 So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.
27 And the Lord said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.
28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.
29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:
30 And Aaron spake all the words which the Lord had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.
31 And the people believed: and when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
In our interconnected world, the call to align with divine purpose resonates deeply within the human spirit. Across diverse cultures and backgrounds, the universal principle remains: true fulfilment emerges from wholehearted obedience to a higher calling. This timeless truth transcends boundaries, inviting each of us to reflect on our commitment to the paths laid before us by the divine.

In the biblical narrative, we find a pivotal moment in Moses’ life. After being commissioned by God to lead the Israelites out of bondage, Moses faced a life-threatening situation due to his neglect in circumcising his son—a critical sign of God’s covenant with Abraham. It was through the decisive intervention of his wife, Zipporah, that Moses’ life was spared, underscoring the profound importance of adhering to divine instructions.
God’s favour is intricately linked to our obedience. Moses, despite his unique calling, could not bypass the foundational requirements of the covenant. This serves as a reminder that aspiring to fulfil divine purposes necessitates unwavering commitment to principles of holiness and obedience.
Zipporah’s swift and discerning action emphasises the vital role of spiritual awareness within the family unit. Her recognition of the gravity of the situation and prompt response after her initial resistance realigned their household with God’s directives. This narrative challenges us to evaluate our own lives and families. Are we attuned to areas requiring spiritual correction? Are we proactive in upholding the covenants we have established with God?
Following this act of obedience, Moses and Aaron came together, demonstrating unity in their mission. They performed the signs God provided, leading the Israelites to believe and respond with worship. This sequence of events illustrates that walking in obedience not only safeguards us but also paves the way for divine manifestations and breakthroughs. When we align our actions with God’s will, we create an environment where faith flourishes and God’s power is revealed.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
No position is a substitute to obedience, tweak it as you may.
