KEY VERSE: “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints” (Jude 1:14).
TEXT: Jude 1:14-16 (KJV)
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
On February 19, 2023, while the Brazilian carnival was ongoing with all the revelry and vanity that accompanied it, a heavy storm descended on the coastal region of the most populous South American nation. The resulting month-long flooding disaster led to the large scale evacuation of residents and truncated the ability of emergency workers to rescue and send relief materials to victims. Quite significantly, the carnival activities were cancelled in the affected areas, prompting some people to believe that the storm was God’s judgment for the wanton display of immoral conduct.

Evidence of divine judgment runs through the Scriptures from the very beginning. Referring to Enoch in our text, Jude reaches back as far as humanly possible for prophecies on divine judgment. Enoch made this declaration in the context of intense rebellion against God. Prophetically, Enoch revealed the scriptural facts of the second coming of Christ, with ten thousand of His saints (millions of them actually) to establish the millennial reign, after executing judgment on the Antichrist.
God is impartial and very consistent in character and deeds. He is not changed by time and circumstances. If He judged sinners and rebels in the Scriptures, what makes people think there are no consequences for their actions today? Those who despise the warnings in the Scriptures do so to their own hurt. Their faith or unbelief, their action or inaction will not in any way alter the fact concerning the certainty of final judgment for sinners. People who, out of fear or false love and compassion, refuse to emphasise the impending judgment to sinners, do more harm than good.
As we spread the gospel of the love of God, we must also warn sinners to repent of their sins and seek solace in God through unconditional acceptance of Christ, our Saviour, Advocate, and Justifier. And we must daily live with the knowledge and understanding of the coming judgment for those who remain in sin. If we become negligent and slip into careless living, we must remember that God is no respecter of persons and that “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Those who neglect God’s impending judgment on sinners, will live with regret in all eternity.
