Topic: Never Mind! [Thursday February 9, 2017]

Text: Job 29:1-11

Key Verse: “Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me” (Job 29:2).

Someone once averred that the challenges that Christians face cannot invalidate the settled word of God. The devil and his cohorts may hurl their darts but the Bible, God’s word, stands. God will defend His word and prove the first liar a liar. So, “never mind” God will always give us the VICTORY through our Lord Jesus Christ.

In our text, Job, a faithful child of God was attacked from all corners of life – family members, wealth, health, friends, name it. Looking back at former days, we read his lamentation in today’s passage. Unknown to him, God and insignificant Satan, so to say, were contesting a truth – that Job loved God not for any material profit. Under God’s permission, Satan wanted to prove God’s testimony about job wrong. Have you lost anything or persons because of your earnestly contending for the faith once delivered unto the saints? Are you bemoaning what you once enjoyed with God and from God? The good old days? Never mind, the storms, the clouds and the fire will soon be over. Never mind because God will always give you the victory.

Never mind, God’s promises concerning you are “yea and amen”. Never mind God will always stand by His word to perform it and prove the enemy impotent. God says, “I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar… and my people shall never be ashamed” (Joel 2:25,26). Whatever you are going through today – today your dark Friday and Saturday; your Sunday – resurrection, restoration, restitution day is very close. Never mind! You may not know the cause of the present affliction, but they are light and will work together for your good. NEVER MIND!

Thought for the day: Every God-given destiny is a product of serious contention.
