Topic: Judgment is Sure [Friday June 12, 2015]
Text: Revelation 15:1-8
Key Verse: “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God” (Revelation 15:1)
There is a dominant truth that most people will not readily accept: that God will judge the actions of every man while on earth. We read this story today and conclude that it must have been an insufferable burden for the inhabitants of Egypt and their king to lose all the firstborn children at a go! But a more awesome sentence will come upon the unrepentant at the time of the Great Tribulation when the Church of Jesus Christ, those redeemed by His precious blood would have been raptured, taken out of this sinful world, to live with Him in unspeakable joy in heaven.
Those who reject the gospel message of salvation, work out by God through the substitutionary death of Christ on the cross at Calvary will be left here on earth for an unpleasant encounter with Satan, the Antichrist and the false prophet; all archenemies of God and Christ.
They will insist that the people must take the mark of the beast (Antichrist). Those who refuse will receive fatal punishment.
Added to that will be God’s own overpowering plagues upon the entire world. There will be no room for escape because even a dash for the temple to pray may be impossible. “And no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled” (Revelation 15:8).
Those who would not experience the torment of that period are those who have embraced the Saviour, those who have settled their ways with God and repented of their sins. They would receive pardon and be given the power and grace to live a holy life. They will be counted worthy of the rapture when the Lord comes in the sky. They will be taken away and spared from the wrath of God both during the tribulation and in eternity.
