Memorise: Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. – Colossians 4:6

Read: Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Bible In One Year: Hosea 5-8; Revelation 1

MESSAGE:

As a saved teenager, you are different from others. Your identity with Jesus Christ sets you apart. The Bible says in Romans 8:17 that because you are a child of God, you are an heir of God and a co-heir with Christ. This makes you unique. Your life is no longer yours because you have given it to God, so, your every action is controlled by God. You carry the Spirit of God and you must set yourself apart to a life of holiness. Even though you live in this perverse world, you are not of the world (John 15:19). You should not be involved in sexual activities, drinking, clubbing, jesting, lies and anything that is against the word of God. Instead, occupy yourself with the godly activities (Colossians 3:16-17). The words of your mouth, your thoughts and actions must set you apart from others (Ephesians 4:29). The temptation to do what everyone is doing will come, but you will not fall for it in Jesus name. Do only what pleases God.

The fact that you are a child of God doesn’t mean that you cannot have fun. There are activities you can engage in such as sports, debates and quiz competitions. You can join a Christian dance group, watch Christian movies et cetera but say No to worldly entertainment.

Action Point:

Dare to be different.

Hymn: I’m Pressing On The Upward Way

  1. I’m pressing on the upward way,
    New heights I’m gaining every day;
    Still praying as I onward bound,
    “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground”.

Chorus:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith on heaven’s table-land;
Where love and joy and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

  1. My heart has no desire to stay,
    Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
    Though some may dwell where these abound,
    My constant aim is higher ground.
  2. Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
    To rest beneath unclouded skies,
    Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
    By those who dwell on higher ground.
  3. I long to scale the utmost height,
    Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
    My song while climbing shall resound
    Lord lead me on to higher ground.
  4. Lord lead me up the mountain side,
    I dare not climb without my Guide;
    And heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
    With grateful heart from higher ground.
