Topic: Discipline Your Eyes against Lust
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1 John 2:16. Read: Gal 5:19-21
As a result of the carnality of men, they’re been controlled by the power of the flesh to do the works of the flesh. Spirituality is the antidote of carnality and worldliness. One of the gates that strengthens worldliness and carnality is the eye gate, it sends signals of what it sees to flesh which moves the whole body into action to react to the message received. In our world today, what some men/women call love is actually lust. Most men are moved with beautiful face, they can spend their money on beautiful face. Beauty is good, but don’t be moved by beauty but love because, beauty can fade away. If you get married for beauty, if the beauty fades, then you will go for another beautiful face again which is the causes of promiscuous living among many.
I tell you the truth, there are many beautiful faces out there, if you don’t discipline your eyes, you might loose your focus and loose your home. No matter how beautiful your wife may be, out there, there’re women more beautiful than her, only a discipline eyes can control the desire of the flesh to keep off. Many married for money and when money finished, marriage ends. Some married because of big boobs. These aforementioned are also in the Church of God, to escape is to study God’s Word and use it as a guide and bulletproof to both our eyes and hearts. Carefully study the following scriptures. Job 31:1, Ps 119:9-11, 18, 37, Rom 8:1-8.
