Memorise: “Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Proverbs 24:17

Read: Proverbs 24:17-18

17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Bible In One Year: Isaiah 45-47, Colossians 3

MESSAGE:

I know that amongst teenagers, many of you quarrel with one another. Firstly, I must tell you that the bible says that we should find peace with all men (Heb.12:14), so a Christians should not be found quarrelling with anyone. If someone decides to pick a quarrel with you, your attitude towards the person must be of love and peace.

Our memory verse for today tells us that we should not rejoice when our enemy falls, in other words, don’t laugh at your enemies misfortune. If the person picking a quarrel with you fails an exam or test, you should not say, “very good, my God is catching (dealing with) you now”. Even if a fellow to hit your hurts himself in the process, you shouldn’t say ” that serves you right”, instead you should help the person get better. You may not see God or even feel Him, but believe me honestly, He can see your every move and the intent of your heart. He said in Proverbs 24:18 that if you laugh at your enemy when he falls, He will be displeased, and He will turn His wrath away from that enemy. If He becomes displeased with you, you can guess who His wrath may turn to.

Key Point:

Love even them that hate you.

Hymn 13:

1 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

2 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross

3 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation?
To those who are dying in sin?

4 We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.
