Topic: Don’t Receive It from Man [18/01/2017]
But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. John 5:34. Read: 2 Cor 10:17-18
What fuel/diesel is to the engine of a car is what testimony or encouragement is to the soul of a man. Encouragement strengthens a man to keep doing what he is doing. It tells you that men believe in what you are doing. But be careful not to depend on that with all your life, to make men’s encouraging words the pillar of your life can be dangerous to ones destiny. Jesus said in the above scripture that he does not receive men’s testimony because He knows what is in man. He knows that “The heart of a man is desperately wicked”. He also knows that, man can be commending outwardly but inside his heart, he wishes you mishap. It was the men that sang “Hosanna to the son of David, blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord” that also shouted “Crucify him”.
When you are good in your field of endeavour, men will surely praise you, how do you handle them? Wisdom is the principal thing. Receive them with cheerfulness from them and immediately inside your heart, return them back to the doer – God. Don’t make the mistake of robbing them on yourself. Don’t even wait until you have a convenient time to do that, do it right away. Don’t allow men’s praises to ensnare your destiny.
