Scripture: …that ye may know how that the Lord doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel. Exodus 11:7
Thought For The Day: If you belong to God, you cannot behave just the way you like.
Previously, it was established that God has exemption and distinction plans for His people even in the midst of dreadful situations in the world.
Now, how can we access or benefit from the exemption and distinction plan of God for us? In our study today, we shall look at one of the keys – Belonging to God.
God does not exempt or distinguish everyone from the calamity confronting the world; He only exempts and distinguishes those who belong to Him. In Exodus 11:7, God put a difference between His people, Israel and the Egyptians. So, God only exempts His own from calamity.
Now, what does it mean to belong to God? It entails:
1. Letting God be the Owner of your life. That is, letting God, the world, and the devil know that you are for God.
2. Letting God dictate your steps. A car does not take itself where it wants; it is the owner who drives it wherever he wishes. So, if you belong to God, He is the One to determine how your life should go per time.
3. Letting God define your character. God gave the Israelites laws, including dietary laws, what to eat and wear, how to behave, how to appear and even how to have a haircut. Going near or touching a dead thing was forbidden.
Beloved, if you belong to God, you cannot behave just the way you like; you would follow His precepts and live by scriptural principles. When it is confirmed that you are for God, your exemption from whatever negative situation that is confronting the world would be guaranteed.
Remember This: If you belong to God, you cannot behave just the way you like.

1. Allow God to be in charge of your life, time and resources.
2. Endeavour to secure the backing of God in all you do or intend to do.
