Topic: Faith Working Through Love

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. Galatians 5:6

As vital as faith is in God’s Kingdom, it cannot work alone, faith only work perfectly through love. This is so important to note because faith without love is nothing before God. The only faith that pleases God is the one borne out of love. Faith cannot be fully exercise without the presence of love, lest, it becomes faith in futility. Paul, trying to buttress this point, he wrote to the Corinth Church in 1 Cor. 13:2, he said, And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. Paul told them, no matter what you do, so long it’s done without love, it’s not acceptable unto God. He went further in verse 3 to say that even if they give all their goods to feed the poor, and burned their body for others, it profits them nothing since those sacrifices were made without love.

Paul concluded his message to the Corinth Church in verse 13 by saying, And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. Faith, hope are great, but greater than them all is love. This is because 1 John 4:8b says “God is love”. It did not say God is faith but love. Because love is also a Spirit,
