READ: Luke 6:38

38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 23-25, Acts 10:24-48

MESSAGE:

The Bible repeatedly emphasises the need to give because givers never lack. If you look around you, you’ll realise that the happiest people are the ones who constantly give because there is fulfillment in giving out a portion of what they have in order to put a smile on someone’s face.

Giving doesn’t necessarily mean handing out money or material things because even Jesus, when He was on earth, met many peoples needs without giving out money. You can give your time, energy, skills to impart knowledge and educate others. You can also give wise counsel, encouragement and compliments to others who are distressed. Whatever you give will definitely come back to you in multiple portions. Proverbs 11:24 says:

“There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.”

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please deliver me from a stingy mindset.

HYMN: THE COMFORTER HAS COME

  1. O spread the tidings round, wherever man is found,
    Wherever human hearts and human woes abound.
    Let every Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound:
    The Comforter has come!

Chorus:
The Comforter has come! The Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heavn, the Fathers promise givn,
O spread the tidings round, wherever man is found:
The Comforter has come!

  1. The long, long night is past; the morning breaks at last;
    And hushed the dreadful wail and fury of the blast,
    As oer the golden hills the day advances fast!
    The Comforter has come!
  2. Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in His wings,
    To every captive soul a full deliv’rance brings;
    And thro’ the vacant cells the song of triumph rings;
    The Comforter has come!
  3. O boundless love divine! How shall this tongue of mine
    To wondring mortals tell the matchless grace divine –
    That I, a child of hell, should in His image shine?
    The Comforter has come!
