MEMORISE: “For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.” – Psalm 5:4-5

READ: Proverbs 6:16-19

  1. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
  2. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
  3. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
  4. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Bible In One Year: Habakkuk 1-3; Revelation 14:1-20

MESSAGE:

In today’s Bible passage, there is a list of sins that God hates and detests. Let us consider a few of them. Firstly, God hates pride. Pride is an abomination to God and the proud will not go unpunished. There’s a saying that pride goes before a fall. This means that if you are puffed up about your academic, spiritual, social or intellectual achievements, it is only a matter of time before you fall.

Secondly, God hates a lying tongue. Satan is the father of lies. If you are still lying and claim to be a child of God, I am not sure you know who your father is. The Bible says Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6 ). God will never lie. God despises a heart that plots evil. Therefore, you should be conscious of the content of your mind. Occupy your mind only with the things that will please God. Be careful not to cover up sin for anyone. If you cover up a sin for your friend, you will be judged as though you were the one that committed the sin. Also, God detests false witnesses. God hates it when you bring confusion into a peaceful place. God hates any sinful act, be mindful of this.

Action Point:
A true child of God will hate what God hates and love what He loves.

Hymns: Wonderful Story Of Love

  1. Wonderful story of love;
    Tell it to me again;
    Wonderful story of love;
    Wake the immortal strain!
    Angels with rapture announce it,
    Shepherds with wonder receive it;
    Sinner, oh, won’t you believe it?
    Wonderful story of love.

Chorus:
Wonderful! Wonderful!
Wonderful, wonderful story of love.

  1. Wonderful story of love;
    Though you are far away;
    Wonderful story of love;
    Still He doth call today;
    Calling from Calvary’s mountain,
    Down from the crystal bright fountain,
    E’en from the dawn of creation,
    Wonderful story of love.
  2. Wonderful story of love;
    Jesus provides a rest;
    Wonderful story of love;
    For all the pure and blest,
    Rest in those mansions above us,
    With those who’ve gone on before us,
    Singing the rapturous chorus,
    Wonderful story of love.
